Decorative panels, commonly known as veneer panels, are single-sided decorative boards made from plywood as a base material, with a 0.2mm thin wood veneer glued to the surface. They are typically 3mm thick and represent a specific type of plywood. Types include wood veneer panels, plastic veneer panels, paper veneer panels, and metal foil veneer panels. Wood veneer panels are made from precious wood species, while plastic veneers often use polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene films. They are considered high-grade decorative materials, distinct from painted finishes. When choosing, it's important to differentiate between natural wood veneer and artificial wood veneer, paying attention to adhesive strength and formaldehyde release. The current national standard stipulates a formaldehyde release limit of ≤0.124 mg/m³ (E1 grade), with the 1m³ climate chamber method used for testing [7]. Daily cleaning should avoid moisture and direct sunlight. After renovation, ensure good ventilation and use activated carbon, bamboo charcoal, and other materials to physically adsorb free formaldehyde.
Veneer panels, also known as decorative veneer plywood, or fancy boards, are secondary processed boards. High-grade decorative veneer plywood uses self-produced three-ply plywood as the base, with self-produced engineered wood veneers, beautified wood veneers, and natural precious wood veneers as facing materials. They are manufactured using advanced bonding processes, including pre-pressing, hot pressing, and sanding. The varieties are named according to the tree species of the surface veneer. Typical specifications are 3mm×3′×7′ and 2.7–3mm×4′×8′. Special specifications can also be produced according to customer orders. With their bright colors and wide variety, they are highly favored by the construction and furniture manufacturing industries.
