"Upholstered Furniture - Sofas" B/T1952.1-2003
Sofas are a major consumer product in the furniture industry, with a large volume and wide distribution. This standard is a revision of QB/T1952.1-1999, and the main changes compared to the original standard are as follows:
(a) Product Classification: This standard classifies products mainly according to the seat elastic material, covering fabric, and functional use.
(b) Main Dimensions Requirements: This standard retains the seat width and seat depth dimensions, but makes corresponding adjustments to the seat front and back height dimensions, and eliminates the armrest height dimension requirements and external dimension deviation requirements.
(c) Material Requirements:
(1) The materials used for the product's exterior should be consistent with the stated specifications;
(2) The internal materials should not contain bark;
(3) The moisture content of the wood should not be higher than the annual average equilibrium moisture content of wood in the product's region (the original regulation was +1%). Appendix B (normative appendix) of the standard adds the equilibrium moisture content values of wood in various regions of my country as a basis for product evaluation.
(4) The standard adds a requirement for dry friction color fastness of ≥4 for textile fabrics, leather, and artificial leather.
(d) Mechanical Performance Requirements: The mechanical performance tests in this standard are based on unified grading requirements for seat and back durability (the original standard specified durability requirements according to the type of sofa elasticity), i.e., durability should pass: Grade A 60,000 cycles; Grade B 40,000 cycles; and Grade C 20,000 cycles. Corresponding adjustments have also been made to the back looseness, armrest looseness, and compression.
(e) Flame Retardancy Requirements: Considering the development trend of the product and reducing harm to people,
(f) Inspection Results Evaluation: Product inspection is divided into type inspection and factory inspection. The inspection results are evaluated as: Excellent product (Grade A), First-class product (Grade B), Qualified product (Grade C), and Unqualified product.
